Catherine Jones Payne has been writing since she was six years old. One of her earliest memories involves perching on a computer chair with a tiara atop her head and tapping out a story about kidnapped princesses. In the intervening years, she’s ditched the tiara but never lost her love for the fantastic or the written word. Her debut novel, Breakwater, releases in the spring of 2017.
She earned her B.A. in English from Wheaton College while pursuing a career as a freelance editor, and in 2013, she launched Quill Pen Editorial to help indie authors and small publishers with all their editing needs. As a professional speaker, she loves traveling to writers’ conferences to meet budding novelists and teach the finer points of writing craft.
She lives in Waco, TX with her historian husband and a cat named Mildred.
